Sintered quartz

Sintered quartz is a material made from a combination of natural components: quartz, granite, shale and ceramic pigments. These components are combined, pressed and then hardened at high temperatures. The result is a large format, lightweight tile that has many of the characteristics of a natural stone. They are durable and highly resistant to damage and soiling.

Liquid metal

Liquid metal is a natural material made by combining powdered metal (filings) with a variety of resins. Thanks to the manual process, the end result is amazing and gives a unique, non-repeatable look every time.

Are aluminum entrance doors a good choice?

Aluminum entrance doors are a popular choice among many people looking for a durable and contemporary solution for their homes. However, before deciding to purchase aluminum entrance doors, it is important to consider several factors. In this article, we will explore both the advantages and disadvantages of aluminum entrance doors, as well as highlight the key features to keep in mind when selecting the right door for your needs.

What are the distinctive features of aluminum entrance doors?

Aluminum entrance doors stand out due to several key characteristics. Firstly, they are exceptionally lightweight yet highly durable. Aluminum is resistant to corrosion, making these doors able to withstand various weather conditions, including rain, snow, and UV exposure. This means they require minimal maintenance and do not need frequent painting. Another notable feature of aluminum entrance doors is their modern aesthetic. The material allows for sleek and elegant designs that complement both contemporary and traditional interior styles. They come in a variety of finishes, including lacquered options in multiple colors, enabling customization to match personal tastes. Additionally, aluminum doors are very robust and resistant to mechanical damage, which is crucial since entrance doors endure significant wear and tear, especially with frequent use. Aluminum’s strength ensures these doors remain reliable and long-lasting over time.

Are there any disadvantages to aluminum entrance doors?

Certainly, aluminum does have its drawbacks. The most noticeable one is the price. High-quality aluminum doors can cost more than their wooden counterparts. If you’re looking for a premium model, you should be prepared for a higher initial investment. Another important factor is insulation performance. Although manufacturers use advanced technologies like thermal breaks and special inserts, wood still naturally provides better insulation. In practical terms, this means aluminum doors can sometimes feel noticeably cooler.

Could aluminum doors be the key to ensuring your security?

A crucial component in securing any home is durable door joinery. Aluminum doors are specifically designed for maximum resistance against forced entry attempts. Their construction features a robust 78 mm thick profile combined with a multi-point locking system. They typically come equipped with a 7-point Fuhr strip lock with hooks running the full height of the door, ensuring firm pressure and airtight sealing. An optional RC3 anti-burglary package is available, enhancing protection against manual tool attacks. These doors also include fixed anti-pry pins and ring escutcheons that protect the lock cylinder. With this setup, aluminum doors not only effectively deter intruders but also significantly increase the overall security level of your home.

How can you properly maintain exterior aluminum doors to preserve their durability and appearance?

Aluminum is a material highly resistant to moisture, UV radiation, and temperature fluctuations. Its natural protective layer prevents corrosion, meaning aluminum doors require minimal maintenance. However, this does not mean that care can be completely neglected. The key to maintaining aluminum entrance doors is regularly removing dust, dirt, and residues from weather exposure. If left on the surface for too long, these contaminants can affect the door’s appearance and, in extreme cases, its mechanical components. Proper care mainly involves gentle, consistent cleaning and occasional inspection of the hardware and seals.
