This process takes place in a specialized glass kiln heated to around 800 degrees Celsius. Compatible glass types, known as “systems” of fusible glass developed by glass manufacturers, are used to ensure that the final products are durable and safe. Fusing offers a wide range of possibilities for glass decoration, allowing control over color, texture, and transparency. The glass created through fusing can also undergo further cold processing such as grinding, sandblasting, or engraving. Naturally, fusing glass integrates well with architecture and interior design. Glass panels made using this method can be found on building facades and interior spaces. They serve as glass doors, tabletops, tiles, and company logos. When bent, fused glass is used to create items like sinks, lighting fixtures, and decorative glass trays.
Construction: Fusing glass is made as double glass with an outer fusing glass, while the inner glass is transparent and smooth.
